Try Alpha

Alpha - A place to experience Church Groups

Alpha is a simple introduction to the essentials of Christianity. It meets weekly on Tuesday nights at 7pm and has a simple format: a shared meal, a short input, and an open discussion in small groups. As such it is a great place to experience the welcome and the warmth that we try to foster in our parish groups.
There is no pressure, no commitment, and no expectations. We are all born curious, so lets stay curious, and explore it together.
Our next course starts on Tuesday 24th September.

Our parish groups

It is easy to get lost in a crowd so at St Elizabeth's the bigger we grow the smaller we try to become. One way of achieving this is by inviting all our parishioners to sign up for any one of the different groups we have in the parish. Some groups meet weekly, others only once or twice a month. When you join a group, you join a group of friends who will support, pray and care for you.

Catholicism for the Curious

Catholicism for the Curious is our follow-on course to Alpha. It is for those who want to know more about the Catholic faith, especially non-Catholics interested in joining the Church, or adult members of the Church who have yet to receive some of the Sacraments. Catholicism for the Curious has nine sessions which usually take place weekly.

Lent Groups

Our Lent Groups meet each week in people's homes. They are opportunities for prayer and encouragement and also to deepen our experience of the Lenten journey by way of a weekly reflection. Occasionally our Lent groups extend into the Easter period. They are another good way of experiencing the support that comes from joining a small group.

Youth Groups

Our Youth Activities take place on a Monday evening and are open to anyone in secondary eduction. At St Elizabeth's we offer 'relational youth ministry' which emphasises the importance of friendship and inclusion, as well as the impact of young adult mentors. In this way we equip our young people to live their faith and to take important decisions such as requesting the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Please see our Youth Activities page for more information.

Online Prayer Rosary Group

Our Rosary Group meets online each day to pray for the needs of the parish as well as the intentions of its members. In addition to the daily Rosary at midday, there is also an online evening Rosary at 7pm on Wednesdays, and an opportunity to pray together in person each Friday morning after the 9am Mass.

House Groups

At St Elizabeth’s we want everyone to be known by name and to be cared for. In addition to coming together as a parish for Sunday Mass, we encourage all our parishioners to meet together twice a month in smaller house groups. These groups are opportunities to pray and grow together, to share joys and sorrows, and to receive the support of God’s love mediated to us through the other members of the group.

Reach More

Reach More is a twelve-week programme for members of our parish who want to grow as disciples and to be equipped to share their faith with family, friends, and colleagues. Led by trained leaders, the Reach More group uses materials developed by the Evangelical Catholic movement.

Catholic Women's League

CWL is a national organisation for women to meet, make new friends, pray and act together at parish, diocesan and national level. We have fun and do more together than we could on our own. St Elizabeth’s hosts a CWL group which welcomes visitors and new members. Learn more about CWL by emailing the parish lead below.

Men's Group

Our Men's Group is for men aged 18 and over who are practising their faith. They meet twice a month to pray for each other and their families, to receive teaching and leadership training, to discuss challenges, and to look for ways to serve the needs of the parish. The Men's Group usually meets on a Wednesday at 7pm.

Catenians

Not strictly a parish group, the Catenians is a friendship and support association for Catholic men founded in 1908 with around 8,000 members.
The Chiswick Catenians have a number of Richmond parish members and is open to newcomers. You can reach out to them using the link below.
